Belgium tourism

Belgium is a small country (11,730 square miles) with a population of about 10 million. With three official languages (Flemish, French and German; English widely spoken) and a perfect location at the heart of Europe, Belgium is a culturally diverse country with a rich and varied history. Belgium has retained its old-world charm in the preservation of its ancient buildings and historical traditions which makes it a charming country to visit.

Within the span of one day (or nearly...) you can take a romantic cruise in the Venice of the North (Bruges), visit the Ypres War Memorials and the Flanders Battlefields, explore a fine art museum in Ghent, visit Napoleon's immortalised Waterloo, hunt for diamonds in Antwerp, enjoy waffles in Brussels, get lost in a castle in Namur and discover antiques at an outdoor market in Liege....
Most of all, Belgians know how to enjoy life to the full - their world-famous beers, chocolates, waffles, mussels, frites and fine cuisine are famous. It's never difficult to find a great place to eat or drink in any Belgian town or city and visitors are always spoilt for choice. Belgium is worthwhile extending your stay for a few days. A dense train network connects all of Belgium and makes navigation simple and comfortable for travelers.
